The goal of this course is to provide students and learners with a comprehensive overview of
modern technology, communication and collaboration tools, courseware, instructional approaches,
best practices, services and perspectives for up to 2010 in the area of Advanced e-Learning and e-
Training.
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to understand better various components of
advanced e-learning, e-training and associated Web-based information systems as well its
technological, social, economic, and organizational impact on modern teaching, learning, and
lifelong training.
The targeted audiences include but are not limited to all Ph.D. students at the Luiss Guido Carli
University as well as university teachers and professors who are interested in modern educational
technologies.
The teaching methods will include:

  • active interaction during face-to-face meetings in a classroom;
  • online learning of a pilot knowledge module using advanced streaming media technology;
  • active collaboration and interaction between students during in-classroom and homework exercises.
